2025 PCS Xmas Cracker
The West Vancouver Otters (WVOSC) concluded a highly successful three-day run at the 2025 PCS Xmas Cracker competition, proudly represented by a powerful contingent of 39 committed competitors. Our athletes delivered a fantastic showing, securing numerous top-three finishes and demonstrating exceptional skill and team spirit across all events. The meet started fast on Day 1, where the Otters immediately found the podium. Rain Shi led the charge by clinching a First Place finish in the 50m Fly, while Lara Senekal added a Third Place finish in the same event before securing Second Place in the 200m Individual Medley (IM). The 50m Backstroke proved to be another strong event for the team, with Cassie Wong taking First Place, followed closely by Emma Lu in Second, and Sally Liu rounding out the podium in Third Place. For her outstanding performance, Lara Senekal was named Swimmer of the Day for Day 1.
The momentum continued through Day 2, which featured impressive results in the longer events. Emma Lu earned a Second Place medal in the 200m Backstroke, while Lara Senekal added another top finish with Second Place in the 200m Fly. The dedication and speed displayed by both Emma Lu and Avery Watson earned them the joint Swimmers of the Day honours.
The final day, Day 3, saw a flurry of medals, particularly in the 100m Backstroke where the Otters nearly swept the podium: Emma Liu triumphed with a First Place finish, with Cassie Wong earning Second Place and Sally Liu securing Third Place. Lara Senekal again showcased her versatility by finishing Second in both the 100m Fly and the 50m Free. The 100m Fly was also highlighted by Rain Shi's Third Place finish. Closing out the meet, Sally Liu and Rhys Watson were recognized for their spectacular efforts as the final Swimmers of the Day. This strong performance leaves the Otters with great momentum heading into the next part of the season.
